What You’ll Find on the Alforno Bakery & Cafe Menu

Bread That Tells a Story

Fresh-baked baguettes in Calgary don’t get better than this, crispy on the outside, airy inside, and often gone by noon. The ciabatta bread is deeply satisfying, perfect for sandwiches or served warm with olive oil.

“Their ciabatta honestly ruins store-bought bread for you. Once you try it, there’s no going back.”  Local customer review via SweetnFresh

Tarts, Cakes, and Calgary-Favorite Desserts

From seasonal fruit tarts to their wildly popular lemon tarts in Calgary, the pastry counter never disappoints. Flaky, buttery, and balanced with real citrus, these are the desserts you bring home, or eat on the walk back.

“I always grab a lemon tart after a meeting downtown. It’s my midweek reward.”

After reading the reviews, I was a little bit afraid to visit this bakery shop. However, I really wanted to give it a try. We sampled their coffees and desserts, and they were delicious. We also decided to try the caprese sandwich and loved it. I was pleased with the service and found the prices reasonable. It's difficult to please everyone, but based on the atmosphere, it's clear that they are doing their best. Thank you for the lovely experience.

My wife and I decided to come here for the first time and we had the caramel latte and the Neapolitan iced latte with a lemon tart. The caramel latte was absolutely delicious and the Neapolitan latte was abit strong for my liking but was still pretty good, but the lemon tart was out of this world delicious and we definitely can’t wait to come back and try more food !!!!

This is a fantastic little coffee shop that offers top notch desserts, breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner options. The location is great for its proximity to the Bow River. Fantastic for a brunch date on a sunny day.

Unfortunately you can't order from the lunch menu until after 3pm. I thought this was kind of weird.

I visited a bakery with friends on Canada Day. Although it’s a bakery, it feels more like a restaurant with table service. We wanted to try everything on the menu, but we ended up ordering some delicious-looking cakes, and we were very satisfied. I especially recommend the cheesecake and tart! The server was incredibly friendly, and we had a wonderful time in the lovely café atmosphere with friends.

Finished up walking across the Peace Bridge, and this was the perfect spot to order a hot drink and get away from the crazy wind 🌬️🍃 & rain 🌧️. Got that London Fog 🌫️ piping hot ☕! Came in useful as a hand warmer when I needed to go back outside and brave the weather again.
