First time visiting this little store and we were so impressed! We ordered the salted egg cupcake and the salted egg meatball sandwiches. The sandwiches are honestly the best in Edmonton — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Haven’t tried the cupcake yet, but it looks amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful, offering us lots of great options. We love this place and will definitely be back!

The bakery itself is super modern, clean, well-lit and colorful! It also has seating inside, and a nice washroom. The lady working was very welcoming and took our orders promptly. I got the salted egg yolk croissant, which you can get warmed up. The croissant was buttery and flakey, the filling paired well, it was rich, and had that distinct flavour. However the filling was quite cold, but nonetheless was delicious and one was surprisingly filling. I would make the stop if you’re in the area!

An Vat is a delightful Vietnamese bakery and dessert café in Edmonton, offering an array of authentic treats that captivate the palate. Their menu features traditional desserts like Chè Bắp (sweet corn pudding) and Chè Thái (fruit cocktail), each bursting with rich flavors and textures. A standout is their salted egg sponge cake, praised for its unique blend of sweet and savory notes, complemented by a light, airy texture. The inviting atmosphere and friendly staff make An Vat a must-visit spot for those seeking genuine Vietnamese confections in the city.

When others come here for coffee, banh mi,I actually come here for their desserts. I love their Wednesday options which is Pandan layer cake and Caramel Flan. Caramel Flan is good but I love Pandan Layer cake more, love the taste of it and the soft chewy kind of texture, it is something that I always love. So lucky I found it here. Also love their salted egg sponge cake roll and I tried their salted egg yolk croissant as well. As soon as I got them in a box for take away, I could immediately feel how much fillings they have put inside the croissant. My picture don't do the justice, it is more than what you see and I ended up having a lot of salted egg yolk on my hand. I will sure always come back for their desserts whenever I'm craving for it.

Today, I tried the “meatballs with salted egg yolk sub”, and oh my gosh, it was absolutely delicious! I also grabbed a salted coffee to sip on during my drive back to Calgary. The coffee was creamy, smooth, and had a unique salty kick—highly recommend giving it a try! Sorry, no pics because I devoured both right away. I also bought a box of beef jerky salad for dinner, and it’s spot-on traditional Vietnamese flavor. I’ve tried many places, but none captured that nostalgic taste from my childhood like this. Overall, the food was amazing, and I’ll definitely stop by every time I’m in Edmonton!
