Got exactly what I ordered, even with short notice. Originally ordered for next day pick up but I changed to same day and they were very accommodating. I ordered matcha flavor and IT WAS SUPER RICH MATCHA, tasted so good, and it's not too sweet.

The cake itself was very soft and spongy, and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. However, as you can see in the pictures, there was significantly more cream than cake. As someone who enjoys a balance of cake with sugar/buttercream, I found the amount of cream to be overwhelming. Additionally, the red food coloring transfers easily and stains the hands, and it does not wash off easily, which was quite frustrating. While the cake had some good qualities, the overall experience leaves me unsure about ordering from this place again.

I ordered a custom cake and specifically asked if a Chantilly cake was possible, and was told yes. However, the cake I received was just a plain whipped cream cake, with no berries or any of the elements that are commonly associated with a Chantilly cake. What made this more frustrating is that “Chantilly flavour” isn’t listed or explained anywhere on their website, so there was no way to know that it simply meant a basic vanilla whipped cream cake in their shop. While the staff was polite in their response, they refused a refund and only offered store credit, which isn’t helpful in this situation. Overall, I felt the communication was unclear and misleading, and I was disappointed with both the product and how the issue was handled.

I had high hopes for Cake It but sadly they fell short. I ordered a 6" red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. It had vibrant color, was beautifully packaged and completed on time (5 stars for service) but the cake was very dry and overall the entire thing was completely tasteless and inedible - ended up throwing it out. What a waste of money. Storefront was cluttered with boxes and back-of-house type supplies - didn't instill much confidence that their product would be good. Staff were so friendly and helpful but I should have followed my instincts and not bought from here. Hope this review can help Cake It improve as I always appreciate small local business.
