Information

The story of Hoopla actually begins with Phil & Sebastian, who, like many humans, have been known to enjoy a really good donut with really good coffee. Always searching for that perfect mix of high-end donut ingredients, flavour, and presentation, they refused to settle for anything less - and one day, after yet another fruitless quest, they realized they didn’t want to live in a world of sub-par pastries. So they set out to simply create their own.

I have eaten Hoopla donuts on several occasions now. For this one, we had a variety of 2 dozen donuts for a birthday celebration. They were all very well received. The ones I specifically tried were the ube coconut, london fog, cereal and milk, peach crunch, creme brulee and honey citrus.

Overall, as donuts, they are soft, light, and fluffy. Their classic ones such as the london fog had a nice tea flavor with every bite, though I would have preferred a bit more concentrated of a flavor. The flavors for the most part are a bit subtle. For example, it was very difficult to appreciate any ube in the ube coconut donut. The purple glaze tasted like a normal sugar glaze and the coconut cream inside took some searching to find that coconut flavor. Similarly the case with the honey citrus as some citrus flavor was present but the honey was not obvious.

Hoopla donuts are a nice option to have for an event or to send as a gift (they also deliver which is a nice touch!) for fun but I do think their flavors could be refined a bit more.

I work nearby and am so glad to have found it. The place is clean, the staff (Andre) is really friendly and feel so mellow her. Ordered the Triple Chocolate doughnut and drip coffee. I will definitely be coming g back

I was invited to sample some Hoopla Donuts for free as part of their gifting program. All opinions are my own.

I'm not usually a donut person but I loved the wide selection of donuts that they have available. My friend and I arrived at around 9 am, and a long line formed behind us and didn't really let up for the hour we were there. I took photos of all the donuts we got between the two of us (including a special edition Negroni donut made with Burwood Distillery gin), but the ones I actually tried were the passionfruit, which I liked for the contrast of the tart glaze against the sweet donut, and the London Fog, which I also enjoyed - it has a nice light cream filling inside though I would personally enjoy a stronger Earl Grey flavour. Both donuts had a soft texture that I enjoyed.

I would say service-wise it was just a little awkward that they only had individual plates for each donut if you were eating them there (we ended up getting five donuts so a bigger plate would've been easier to carry) and only large boxes (or individual bags) for takeout. Otherwise I had a lovely time and would be happy to go back to try more varieties, though based on other reviews I'm assuming the earlier you go, the better!

Delicious donuts made in vegan and gluten free options. We tried the raspberry crumble, brownie cheesecake, double almond and salted caramel. My favourites were the salted caramel and brownie cheesecake! The tea was also delicious and everything was fresh. Truly recommend!

Sleek, cool space inside an office building (2nd floor). No bars, only raised donuts but a GREAT selection of vegan and non-vegan donuts. Creme Brule donut had a fun crunch. I did not like the cream cheese filling of the churro donut at all. Very disappointing but I should have asked. Service was amazing. The gentleman was kind, patient, and you could tell has a great soul.
