Hands down the best croissants I had in Calgary. The plain one is the best. They are layered and puffy, chewy without being tough, with wonderful contrast between the crunchiness and the softness.

The chocolate one is great as well. I personally like chocolate so I appreciate the rich flavor that one can find from it. But I reckon you might want to start with the plain one.

Highly recommended!

The pastry at this cafe is the best in Calgary! A group of friends and I went in and got a sampling of a lot of items to try. I loved everything, but the stand outs were the McMust sandwich, the monkey bread, and the cakes in a box! The croissants were also perfectly laminated and you can tell that they are made fresh in house. Will be returning often!

I regret ever coming across Needs Must Cafe - their baked goods are amazingly delicious and I'm hooked. My wallet and waist line are not happy. However my brain and taste buds are not complaining!

Their pastry chefs REALLY know what they're doing. I can't stay away... someone please go and buy all of their baked goods every day so I don't need to keep going back lol.

I had the focaccia donut and the banana bread.
They said that their most popular food item is the focaccia donut so I had high expectations but it wasn’t very pleasant. I thought it would be a softer donut since focaccia is nice and soft but the outside was quite crunchy and hard to bite into. It almost had a stale crunch, and because there was a layer of SWEET icing on top, my teeth hurt since it took a while for me to take a bite. The jam inside tastes good though.
The banana bread was just okay, I think the layer of sugar on the outside is unnecessary. The fluffy cream isn’t bad and the hazelnut filling on top tastes of pure hazelnut which is good but rich. The actual bread itself is good so if you like banana bread then you might like it.

Tried three things (pizza, focaccia doughnut, and juice), and they were all genuinely and surprisingly delicious. The pizza didn't /look/ particularly appealing, but there was just something indescribable about it that made it really good--and I had it half cold since I had brought it home! The crust is thick but light, and the toppings were flavoured well. The focaccia doughnut has a really interesting, nice chewy texture and the dough itself is flavourful even without the filling and the glaze (both also good). It's dense, but doesn't feel greasy or heavy at all.

There are so many places with rave reviews in Calgary that are just okay, but this truly deserves 5 stars.
