Velvet Cafe

The chef is is so talented. I've been here 4 times in the last few months since I discovered them through the yyc hot chocolate festival and I keep looking for excuses to run errands in the area so I can stop by. The espresso brisket sandwich is to die for, the chicken paprikash on brown rice equally delicious. They have tasty house made dips and spreads, take home meals and soups and adventurous cafe offerings as well and very reasonably priced. A hidden yyc gem for sure.

In response to the person who complained about the service, I have nothing but good to say about all the staff I've met. And the vegetarian meals are very good. Each does me for 3 meals, so the price is very reasonable. Any time I'm in Calgary (140 km drive) on a Thursday, I stop in.

I have been the store many times and it is always a fantastic experience. I recently used the Velvet Cafe for catering a small party and it was fantastic, well done and plenty of food. Would use again for sure. Thanks Velvet Cafe!

Dropped in for the second time. Hoping that the lady at the till was just having a bad day during initial visit, but to my disappointment it wasn't the case. Listen, their product is as the past reviews indicate: delicious; the lack of customer service for me however, trumps product. I'll be taking my business elsewhere...there are a number of great places in the area where I feel like I'm not an inconvenience. Maybe just put a sign on the door: customers not welcome.

This is a little Cafe that I discovered during YYC Hot Chocolate Fest. It's Delicious. It has vegan and omnivore options and a little "store boutique" of other local sellers on shelves around for you to look at while they make your coffee.
They have a really good local following too. Truly an amazing hidden gem.
